Allie S. Gaupp
Allegra Scott Gaupp was born January 26, 1902, in American Fork, Utah, to Sidney
Ernest and Amanda Wing Nicholes. She is the last survivor of this couple who brought twelve
souls into the world.
Allie passed from this life on March 31, 2000 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Her marriages, together with the dates of her four spouses' deaths, are as follows: Guy Frampton
(1920), M. Leonard Scott (1936), Harry Ostler, Sr. (1952) and Charles Gaupp (1964). She is
survived by her son, L. Ed Scott, his wife Ann, and a former daughter-in-law, Phyllis J. Scott. Other
survivors include three precious grandchildren to her, Steven L. Scott, Martha J. Pease (John) and
Edwin "Eddie" R. Scott (Tracy) along with her great-grandchildren Johnny and Cammie Pease, and
Jessica, Vanessa, Allison, Melissa and Daniel Scott.
In her early years Allie owned and operated one of Salt Lake's premier beauty salons. Upon her
marriage to Harry Ostler, she entered the candy business with him. She was extremely talented
in bead work, candy-making and gardening and loved her Relief Society callings to teach
Homemaking skills. After her retirement from the candy business in 1956, she spent over 35 years
of equal time between her Salt Lake and Rancho Mirage, California, homes.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4,
2000 at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (Memorial) section. The family and friends may call at
the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to
services.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many sisters in the Monument Park Stake for
their long hours of compassionate service as well as to the personnel at the Park Lane Manor and
Federal Heights Nursing Center along with the wonderful staff at the LDS Hospital for the gentle
and loving care that they afforded Allie during her latter years. Thank you all ! !
