WING FAMILY INFORMATION
Wing Fort House

Built in 1641, this house is called the "Fort House" because it was probibly used as a refuge from Indian attacks. In 1646 it became the home of Stephen Wing, one of the early settlers of Sandwich and my ancestor. The Wing Fort House is the oldest house in New England owned and occupied continuously by Wings for over 300 years. The house is now maintained as a museum by the Wing Family of America, Inc. The museum is open Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, from June 15 to September 30. For off season visits phone the cartaker, at 508 833-1540. Admission is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children under twelve.
